Moving On To Senior School

We are committed to all through education at St Albans High School for Girls and consider it a privilege to educate pupils from 4 to 18. Girls flourish in the ethos nurtured in the Prep School and move comfortably and confidently into our Senior School.

Almost all our girls go up to the Senior School. We are expert in preparing them for our entrance assessments and we give girls lots of opportunities to get to know the grounds, curriculum, pupils and staff of the Senior School before they move up into it. All pupils sit an English and maths paper and have an interview, which inform our understanding of them and help to build our relationship with them as learners as they move into the next stage of their education. The tests and interview are not alarming. In fact, girls usually enjoy the process. In the few cases where the Senior School would not be a good fit, Mrs Rowe and her team will alert parents in Year 5 and work very closely with them to find alternative schools.
