A Level Results 2020

Posted on 13 August 2020

St Albans High School (STAHS) congratulates all its 2020 leavers on completing an extraordinary year of education. We are so proud of what they have achieved in these challenging times. The vast majority of leavers have now secured their first-choice university offer.  All our Oxbridge pupils have been accepted onto their chosen course and we’ve also had excellent outcomes for our medicine, veterinary and dental offer holders.

In line with the announcement by the Secretary of State for Education on 17 August 2020, A level grades awarded are the Centre Assessment Grade (CAG) or the adjusted result calculated by the exam board – whichever is the higher grade. The School was diligent and clinical in preparing CAGs and followed the protocols put in place by Ofqual to the letter.  A full summary of A level results can be seen here .

The whole year group deserves the greatest level of praise for its positive approach to this highly unusual final year of school – whatever happens next, class of 2020 will forever be the ‘Lockdown Leavers!’

Amber Waite, STAHS Head, commented: “I am delighted that STAHS pupils have had such positive outcomes in terms of gaining excellent places at university. They have been the absolute model of STAHS values, demonstrating perseverance, positivity, good humour and above all, an excellent sense of perspective. I am so very proud of them all and wish them the very best of luck for their exciting futures!”
