Students tackle stage combat and clowning in interactive Drama workshops
Year 8 Drama students supported their study of commedia dell’arte – the famous Italian mask comedies – with an interactive workshop on Tuesday.
A team of practitioners from Trestle Theatre Company visited STAHS to play games, develop theatre performance skills and equip participants with the confidence to interact with their audience.
Students took part in five workshops: masks, half masks, clowning/physical theatre, stage combat and design, in what proved to be a hugely enjoyable day for all.
Anna Coxon, Head of Academic Drama, said: ‘Students really thew themselves into the different activities. It was great to see all students trying new skills and developing their confidence through the workshops.’
