Families flock to STAHS Children’s Book Festival
More than 1,000 people flocked to the Prep School in Wheathampstead on Saturday 10 June to attend the third STAHS Children’s Book Festival.
The hugely popular event included storytelling sessions with Simon Pegg and interactive author visits and book signings from the likes of Nick Butterworth, SF Said and Ross Welford.
Isabel Thomas, Sarah Roberts, Kimba and local author Jennifer Sprinks completed the bill.
Further excitement was provided by an RAF Hurricane flypast, face-painters, STEM-themed stalls, a literary trail, Jurassic Park-themed area, and The Dinosaur That Pooped!
There was also a well-stocked book shop and a popular food court, offering everything from ice-cream to burgers and Malaysian street food.
Acting Head of Prep Martyn Vandewalle said: ‘The Book Festival was a fantastically fun day, helped in no small part by the glorious sunshine!
‘A huge amount of time and effort went into making the day such a success, and plans are already afoot to make next year’s even better. We hope our guests enjoyed it as much as we did!’
