The department of Art & Design at STAHS encourages work in which emotional and intellectual content combine with an understanding and appreciation of materials and processes in ways which are authentic, engaging, personal and honest.
The art curriculum provides scope for students to pursue, shape and develop their own ideas and to use a varied range of media and approaches, very much reflecting the art of today. It encourages girls to take ownership of the creative process and leads to the development of true independent learners.
Placing the girl’s learning experience at the centre of everything we do shapes how we function as a progressive department within the school. Learning how to learn becomes the ultimate goal for us all.
