It is a privilege to lead this happy, dynamic and diverse community of students and staff. At STAHS Senior you will find students who are bright, creative and aspirational. We are enormously proud of their achievements both within and beyond the classroom.
Our educational philosophy, Teach to 25, shapes all that we do at STAHS. We seek to prepare our students not just for their next academic steps, but for life beyond the confines of education and into their first years of employment as young adults. Teach to 25 ensures our students understand the importance of forging their skills of critical thinking, reasoning, resilience, teamwork, public speaking and emotional intelligence. You will see this in evidence in all our lessons and especially in our Skills for Life programme, in the weekly SuperCurriculum sessions, in the Sixth Form Diploma and across the breadth of our co-curricular provision.
Of course, we want our students to leave with excellent academic results – and they do. Their success stems from our Teach to 25 philosophy, their enthusiasm for learning and the passion their teachers have for their subjects. We believe in stretching our students and nurturing each girl as an individual. We encourage them to think creatively and to be courageous in the face of failure. We teach them to be tolerant and respectful of views that are different from their own and, most importantly, we remind them to be kind. Our alumni are testimony to the limitless opportunities that await our girls when they leave us. What they all have in common is a commitment to lead lives of consequence and to shape the world in which they enter for the better.
