The Physical Education curriculum at STAHS is broad and stimulating. Pupils are encouraged through different mediums to demonstrate and apply skills, techniques and ideas showing precision, control, fluency and originality. Girls are given opportunities to work co-operatively with one another to develop their competence together with their knowledge and understanding of a wide variety of sporting activities.
Enjoyment and personal success are at the heart of all lessons and varied teaching allows for the development of creativity and important life skills. Whether girls want to pursue sports beyond the curriculum or not, all gain an appreciation of the necessity of maintaining healthy lifestyles and exercise habits through practical performance, are underpinned by engaging theoretical concepts, contemporary ideas and first-rate teaching.
