In Reception the girls are building the foundations of their learning. Our curriculum is topic-based and engages the children’s interest. The girls learn through a challenging yet playful approach within which care and nurture are key. We seek to develop strong relationships with our parents in preparation for a long and effective partnership as the girls move through the school.
Reception girls learn phonics and early language skills and are soon on their way to becoming confident readers. They are taught basic number skills while learning to socialise well, to manage friendships, deal with difficulties and embrace challenge. Physical skills underpin their development through art and craft, construction activities and P.E. The curriculum is rich and varied with plenty of time for music, drama and creativity.
