After completing a degree in Astrophysics at the University of Edinburgh, Drew found himself at the University of Bath where he completed his PGCE. It was all teaching from then on and he taught for eight informative years at Rickmansworth School in Hertfordshire. While at Rickmansworth, Drew launched GCSE Astronomy before becoming Head of Physics and, in his final three years, Head of Science. Concurrently, Drew was the co-ordinator of overseas expeditions, taking trips to Borneo, Tanzania and Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. He also held the position of eLearning Co-ordinator and later became Associate Assistant Head where he developed a new approach to reporting. Drew won the 2015 Pearson Teacher of the Year Award, has written for publications such as the Times Education Supplement and has presented at conferences on various themes. Drew joined STAHS as Head of Science and, after a successful three years, is now looking forward to embracing his new role of Deputy Head Academic.
