STAHS Remembers: A programme of events to mark the centenary of WW1

Posted on 23 October 2018

The High School will be marking the 100 year anniversary of the end of the First World War with a week-long programme of events throughout the Senior School in early November.

Highlights will include:

  • Displays and installations throughout the school, including a timeline of the Home Front experience and commemorative bunting
  • Lunchtime film screening of My Boy Jack
  • Unknown Soldier, a one-man play
  • Creative Writing Club on War
  • Show and Tell for students to share their family’s war stories

The commemorative week will draw to a poignant close as students make a silent procession to our Garden of Remembrance on Friday 9 November, each planting a cross with the name of a soldier or citizen from St Albans who died during the war.

We will share highlights of the week on our social media channels using #STAHSRemembers.
