Prep Girls receive Prince William Awards from the Duke of Cambridge

Posted on 28 September 2018

It is not every day that one can say that they have met a Prince, but for four lucky Year 4 pupils and their teachers, last week this became reality.

On Tuesday 18 September, Lotte, Rebecca, Eliana and Millie travelled to the inaugural awards ceremony of the Duke of Cambridge’s initiative for KS1 and KS2, the Prince William Award.

Held in the University of Birmingham, this event celebrated the achievements of pupils who have undertaken the award in the previous year.

The Prince William Award, which sees ex-servicemen and women lead pupils in activities designed to educate their character, has been a huge success with our students.

HRH Prince William the Duke of Cambridge was on hand to present the awards and spent some time chatting to our students about their experience.

The girls also got the opportunity to take part in an exercise session with the Prince’s own personal trainer – they were even joined by the Duke of Cambridge on a space hopper!

David Walliams was the master of ceremonies and a fun-filled day was had by all.
