New classrooms unveiled for Michael House

Posted on 13 September 2018

We were delighted to start the new school year with three brand new classrooms for Michael House, which were installed over the summer holiday.

Using a modular design, six separate units were transported to St Albans from Yorkshire, and lifted into place on top of Michael House Hall using a large crane. Despite limited access for the installation team in our compact city-centre site, the lift and installation process all went smoothly, and the classrooms were ready for the start of term.

These new permanent structure has been finished with cladding to give the vertical extension a contemporary feel, whilst keeping in style with the rest of the school buildings.

Paul Owen, Estates Manager commented: “The Moduloft solution was an efficient approach to deliver three new classrooms in limited space and within a time-constrained summer holiday period. We are extremely pleased with the end result that was completed on time and budget.”
