STAHS students celebrate Oxbridge offers

Posted on 15 January 2018

We are delighted that 13 students have received an offer for a place from either Cambridge or Oxford University. This represents 54% of those invited to interview, which is an exceptional conversion rate. This means 15% of the current Year 13 are holding Oxbridge offers.

This year’s offers span a diverse range of subjects including Archaeology; Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic alongside more mainstream subjects including Medicine and Engineering.

St Albans High School offers outstanding support in pursuing their university choices. Girls have a subject mentor who supports them with their application, whether for the UK or overseas, and there are many opportunities for advice and guidance, creating a truly enabling environment throughout the Sixth Form.

Jenny Brown, Head, commented: “We encourage all our students to aim high, so it’s wonderful to see this ambition rewarded with a university offer. We are very grateful to the support of our outstanding teachers, as well as their parents in supporting their applications, and look forward to seeing what the future holds for these talented students.”
