We are pleased to announce the appointment of Sian Hoggett as Director of Marketing, Admissions and Engagement with St Albans Education Group (STAEG). STAEG is a pioneering independent schools charity committed to shaping the future of education and was established in 2024 under its flagship St Albans High School for Girls, one of the UK’s leading independent schools. Sian joins the Executive Team led by Principal Amber Waite and Chief Operating Officer Mike Lewis MBE.
Sian joins STAEG from the British Museum, where she led the British Museum Friends and oversaw the Museum’s Marketing, Regular giving and Ticketing operations. Having read History and Politics at the University of York, Sian began her career in the education sector, holding roles with King’s College London, University College London and London Business School, before moving to the British Museum where she worked for over a decade. Sian is a Trustee of York Archaeology and has previously served on the advisory board of the United World College of the Atlantic, which Sian attended on a scholarship from the Isle of Man Government. Sian is also an alumna of the Clore Leadership Programme.
Sian and her family live in Harpenden. Sian is an avid skier and reader, aiming (and sometimes succeeding!) to read 100 books a year.
Sian’s appointment follows an extensive recruitment process led by the independent school specialists Odgers.
Sian said: ‘I am delighted to have joined STAEG – and to have arrived just in time to start a new academic year alongside the students and parents who have chosen our schools. I am so excited to have returned to the education sector, and to be part of a growing group, backed by STAHS whose reputation is exceptional. I am looking forward to meeting the current STAEG community, as well as prospective students and parents over the coming year.’
Amber Waite, Principal of St Albans Education Group said: ‘Sian has an expansive knowledge of relationship management and marketing and has applied this within her roles in the education and cultural sectors. As our group grows, and the marketplace continues to change, I’m confident Sian’s experience will be a great asset to STAEG.’
