STAHS Class of 2026 Celebrates Record-Breaking A Level Success
St Albans High School for Girls (STAHS) is celebrating its best ever A level results, with the Class of 2026 achieving exceptional grades across the board.
- 55% of the year group achieved all A* and A grades
- 37% of results were graded A*
- 75% of results were graded A*/A
- 94% of results were graded A*/B
- One fifth of the cohort achieved 3 A* grades
The results reflect the academic excellence of the cohort and also their commitment, determination and intellectual curiosity throughout their time at STAHS.
Students are now preparing take up places at an impressive range of universities. More than 15% of the cohort have secured places at Oxford or Cambridge, and the majority of leavers will be attending Russell Group universities. Their chose degree subjects span a remarkable breadth of disciplines, including Aerospace Engineering, Marine Biology, Law, Medicine, Music, Fine Art and Human Sciences, demonstrating the ambition and diversity of interests within the year group.

‘We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the Class of 2026 and their outstanding A level results. These are our best results ever and are a wonderful reflection of the girls’ academic ability, resilience and hard work. What makes us particularly proud is the breadth of contribution these young women have made to our school community, through co-curricular activities, leadership and the many individual passions and talents they have pursued alongside their studies. We’ve sent our warmest congratulations to all students and thanks to the dedicated staff, parents and families whose encouragement, guidance and support have played such an important role in the girls’ successes.
The cohort also demonstrated exceptional achievement in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), with more than half of students completing the qualification and 94% achieving an A* grade.
As they prepare to take their next steps at leading universities and in a wide range of exciting future pathways, the Class of 2026 leaves STAHS with a remarkable record of achievement and a lasting contribution to the school community.
