Congratulations to our class of 2024 on their A level results

Date Posted: Thursday 15 August 2024

We are so proud of our Year 13 students who received their A Level results and university offers today. They’ve worked incredibly hard over the past several years to reach this point, and they have certainly earned the right to celebrate today!

Our students have once again far surpassed the national results: 30% of STAHS A Levels were grade A* and a record 73% were grades A*-A (compared to 9.3% A* and 27.8% A*-A grades across the whole of England, Wales and Northern Ireland).

Highlights from today include:

  • 59% of students achieved 3 or more A* and A grades
  • 82% of all students accepted offers at their first choice university, and 94% accepted offers at either their first or second choice university.
  • 83 of 88 students will begin studies at 29 different universities this Autumn (4 students are taking a gap year and one student has accepted an apprenticeship at Google).
  • All students holding offers for Veterinary Medicine have taken up places, as have most of our students holding offers for Medicine.
  • 9 students have accepted places at Oxbridge.

The statistics mask the fact that each of our 88 Year 13 students has completed her own incredible journey at STAHS. Some notable individuals include:

  • Emily, our top-performing pupil with A*s in each of Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths who leaves to read Natural Sciences at Cambridge
  • Leonie, Poppy, Olivia, Fenella and Bethan, who each earned 3 A*s and an A in their A Levels
  • Yemisi, Sophie, Derin, Cara and Emily who each earned A* in all three of their A Levels
  • Joan and Arshya who have earned choral scholarships at Oxford and Lizzie who has earned a choral scholarship at Cambridge
  • Daria who joined STAHS in Year 12 from Ukraine, and has earned four A Levels, including an A* in Psychology, an A in Music, a B in English Literature and a C in Drama and Theatre Studies. She has been a stalwart member of the STAHS community and has performed in numerous theatre productions and concerts. We wish her the very best of luck as she takes up her place at King’s College London to read Psychology. Well done, Daria!
