Age-appropriate Pre-Prep assessment

At STAHS, we make the admissions process as welcoming and stress-free as possible. Your child will enjoy a relaxed, one-hour session with our experienced Pre-Prep team in a calm, play-based environment – much like a pre-school setting. With engaging activities and toys, the focus is on helping your child feel comfortable and happy.

To ensure individual attention, we keep groups very small – just a few girls at a time. Before the assessment, you and your child will be invited to a familiarisation playdate, giving you both the chance to feel at ease and excited about the return visit.

JOINING YEARS 1, 2 OR 3 IN SEPTEMBER 2027

Girls are invited to attend a relaxed, age‑appropriate assessment in a calm, play‑based environment with our Head of Pre-Prep, who ensures each child feels confident and comfortable throughout the session.

Maths, reading and writing form part of the assessment for all applicants. Girls currently in Year 2 will also complete some reading and maths tasks on an iPad as part of their assessment.

JOINING YEARS 4, 5 OR 6 IN SEPTEMBER 2027

Assessment days run throughout the year, subject to year‑group availability. Each day provides a warm, welcoming introduction to life at STAHS, combining fun, interactive activities with formal assessments. Girls complete online assessments in English and Maths, a writing task and enjoy a variety of lessons with their current year group.
