STAHS girls embrace a range of theatrical experiences outside the curriculum. Sixth Form girls relish the opportunity to direct students across all year groups for their Houses, bringing given themes to life in creative and witty ways.
The Department’s main annual production offers students a platform to share their expertise in a range of theatrical disciplines including performance, stage management, lighting and scenic design; and to promote a professional understanding of the workings of the stage supported by our skilled theatre technician.
We are regular attendees at the theatre and are inspired by a rich and varied diet offered by London and residential trips to places such as Stratford upon Avon. These are frequently paired with workshops and cross-curricular projects which inspire the girls’ own projects. Over fifty girls a year take LAMDA courses. These are delivered by theatre professionals, promote self-confidence, performance skills, and physical and vocal presence.
