Government & Politics

The study of Government and Politics at STAHS is as fascinating as it is eye-opening.  Students are introduced to a world which is new to them in terms of academic study; a world of power, principles and public policy. Whether studying the British or US constitutions, elections or the powers of the US President and British Prime Minister, our students develop a sophisticated understanding and critical analysis of the functions and features of comparative political systems.

Students are encouraged to become independent learners and to develop their faculties of analysis and evaluation through scholarly engagement with the debates. The Department offers many opportunities for extension beyond the curriculum, including trips to Westminster, Washington DC and the Youth Model United Nations.
