Girls in Year 8 or 9 can broaden their horizons by studying this globally significant language. An awareness of the language and an understanding of the culture are exciting, enriching and rewarding. This GCSE course is delivered at STAHS by well trained teachers from Dragons in Europe and study takes place for two hours after school (4.00 pm – 6.00 pm), once a week.
The course involves a compulsory eight day study tour in Beijing; this cost is met by parents. The study tour is designed to enable the GCSE students to study the language more intensively while exploring this ancient culture and civilisation.
