STAHS Sixth Formers put on a spectacular show for education charity

Posted on 2 December 2019

On Tuesday 12th November, STAHS Sixth Form students, Claudia and Charlotte, hosted a hugely successful Talent Showcase to raise money for the Savannah Education Trust, a charity founded by one of our own teachers Mr Ramsbottom. On deciding their charity partner, the girls said, “The charity provides education for some of the poorest children in Northern Ghana so we chose to support this charity because we know how much everyone at the school values education and the opportunities it brings.”

The evening involved a wide variety of performances, such as dancing, singing, music and magic, and even some of the teachers took to the stage, including Mother Clarke and the Chemistry department. It was a hugely entertaining evening for performers and audience members alike, resulting in the girls raising a mammoth £2,409 through ticket sales and the very popular raffle. Through their creativity and hard work, Claudia and Charlotte have raised enough money to pay for a whole class of students to be educated and fed for an entire year. The STAHS community couldn’t be more proud!
