The Governors are pleased to announce that Heather Greatrex will take over from Dorothy Henderson as Chair of Governors for St Albans High School for Girls in December 2017.

Heather joined the Governing Body in 2008 and became Vice-Chair in 2015. She sits on the Strategy, Finance and General Purposes, Remuneration and Nominations Committees. She is an Old Girl of the High School (1971-1978) and was Chair of the Old Girls’ Association for six years.

Heather is a Chartered Accountant, having commenced her career with Deloitte, before moving to PwC Management Consulting where she worked for 12 years in the Executive Search division, after which she was an Associate Director within Capita (Veredus). In 2009 she joined Executive Action, a company specialising in senior level coaching and career transition. She has been a Director of the business since 2012. Heather has a Masters degree in Executive Coaching and a degree in Geography from Exeter University.

Heather commented: “I am honoured and delighted to be elected Chair of Governors for St Albans High School. I would like to thank Dorothy Henderson, our outgoing Chair, for her very wise leadership over the past four years and I am pleased to say that she is remaining on the Governing body so we will continue to make use of her considerable talents.

“My fellow Governors and I will be working tirelessly to support pupils, teachers and senior management in order to ensure that St Albans High School continues to be a remarkable place where scholarship, adventure and integrity thrive within a caring pastoral community.”
