Senior School Curriculum

"The students at St Albans High School are enthusiastic, keen and able learners who listen effectively, read intelligently and write fluently"
ISI Inspection Report
There are approximately 650 girls in the Senior School of whom 170 are in the Sixth Form. Whilst your daughter will be placed in a House Tutor group for administrative, pastoral and some teaching purposes, the majority of their learning will take place in Years 7, 8 and 9 in one of four parallel groups for most academic subjects and in small groups for creative subjects. This enables the girls to get to know as many of their peers as possible. As your daughter moves up through the school, of course, the teaching groups become smaller and are dependent on the subject choices which she makes. Some girls receive additional support in specific aspects of their learning through our Additional Curricular Education programme.
