Welcome to the Senior School

One of our stated aims is to equip girls with the skills needed to cope with the demands of the 21st Century and in particular for a workplace in which the role of women is still being defined. To this end we place great emphasis on the development of independent learning, where girls take responsibility for knowing where they are, where they need to go and how best to get there. Students give careful consideration to their strengths and weaknesses, devising strategies to exploit the former and setting targets to strengthen the latter.

“In times of great change, learners will inherit the earth, whilst the learned will find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists”

Eric Hoffer

Girls develop IT skills using a vast range of Information and Communications Technology in a fully networked school with two purpose built computer suites and banks of laptops for use in classrooms. They develop independent learning and research skills using two well stocked libraries with highly qualified librarians on hand to guide and support their work. Pupils are taught by highly qualified enthusiastic teaching staff who regularly attend courses to update their subject knowledge and teaching methods, participating in the shaping of the future of the school through the work of the School Council.
