We hope you enjoy using the StAHS web site. If you have trouble viewing content and wish to increase the size of objects on your screen, you can zoom in to get a clearer view.

To do this (Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome) hold down the CTRL key and press the + (plus) key­ until the objects reach the size you are happy with. To zoom back out, hold down CTRL and press the – (minus) key.

In Internet Explorer, you can also access the zoom settings from the Status Bar, which can be found at the bottom of the window. Click on the ‘100%’ or image of the Magnifying Glass to cycle between three levels of zoom. You can also click the arrow to bring the full zoom menu up, as below.

Young Enterprise

Young Enterprise is a scheme whereby during the course of a school year, girls create a product and have opportunities to sell it around the county. Volunteers with a wealth of knowledge in running businesses also advise them, making the experience more authentic. Girls enjoy participating in Young Enterprise, and we have found from experience, that companies, when run effectively, can be extremely successful. For example, one of the groups last year, 'Alpha', received awards for best product and best overall company at the Young Enterprise stall at the Harpenden Christmas Fair and for 'Best Company Report' at the Young Enterprise competition held at Rothamsted Conference Centre.

Young Enterprise is also an integral part of school life, even for the younger students, with groups not only developing products for sale, but also putting on events such as movie nights. The girls really enjoy this and always look forward to the next event with great anticipation.
