The High School Society

We are very fortunate to enjoy the support of parents from both the Senior School and from Wheathampstead House, who together with the Headmistress and two teacher representatives, form the Committee of the High School Society. As a valued part of the school community, they aim to provide a series of social events in order for parents to get to know one another and these events in turn contribute to the schools' funds.

The members are elected to serve a three year term, but the committee are always keen to hear from anyone who feels they can spare any time to become involved with any of the activities.

Funds Raised

Every year the High School Society raises many thousands of pounds for the school. As in previous years (see below), the £10,000 generated during 2007/08 has helped provide much valued additional items and equipment for both Wheathampstead House and the Senior School.

  • 2002/03 - Electronic white boards, musical resources and a Wendy house for the infant playground
  • 2003/04 - White boards, furnishing the adventure playground and recycling bins
  • 2004/05 - A tunnel oven for the food technology department
  • 2005/06 - Gym equipment for the new sports complex
  • 2006/07 - Furniture and picnic tables
  • 2007/08 - PA system for Wheathampstead House and funds towards the language laboratory
