We hope you enjoy using the StAHS web site. If you have trouble viewing content and wish to increase the size of objects on your screen, you can zoom in to get a clearer view.

To do this (Internet Explorer, Firefox and Google Chrome) hold down the CTRL key and press the + (plus) key­ until the objects reach the size you are happy with. To zoom back out, hold down CTRL and press the – (minus) key.

In Internet Explorer, you can also access the zoom settings from the Status Bar, which can be found at the bottom of the window. Click on the ‘100%’ or image of the Magnifying Glass to cycle between three levels of zoom. You can also click the arrow to bring the full zoom menu up, as below.

Du Cane Music Scholarship

The Du Cane Music Scholarships will normally be awarded to pupils entering the Senior School in Year 7. Girls may come from Wheathampstead House or from another school. A successful candidate will have reached a good standard in the Entrance Examination. The awards will be worth up to 50% of the tuition fees. Fees assistance to offset instrumental tuition taken at the High School is also often awarded as a result of the selection process.

Candidates will automatically be asked if they wish to be considered for the Du Cane Scholarships as part of the Year 7 entrance examination correspondence sent out from the High School. If a Du Cane Scholarship is declined or if there is no suitable candidate, then it may be offered to another girl already at the school.
